Marsh has appointed Kevin Richards (pictured) to the newly created role of global head of cyber risk consulting, based in Chicago, USA.

Richards will be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of Marsh’s cyber risk consulting business worldwide, closely collaborating with its regional and local cyber risk experts as well as Marsh’s cyber insurance brokerage teams.

He will report to Michael Poulos, president of Marsh Risk Consulting and global head of client advisory services, who commented: “By constantly seeking to innovate around strategic risks such as cyber, we help clients to achieve their enterprise risk management and business goals. Through his proven track record of building and protecting the critical information assets of organisations globally, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in information security that will enable us to advise our clients on solutions and strategies needed to meet the rapidly evolving cyber risk landscape.”

Prior to joining Marsh, Richards was leader of Accenture’s North America security practice and its global security strategy & risk practice. A widely recognised veteran of the cybersecurity and consulting industries, he has been inducted into the Information System Security Association (ISSA) Hall of Fame for his contributions to the information security community and the security profession.
