XL Catlin appoints president of global risk management
Jay Lefkowitz was named president of XL Catlin’s global risk management business in North America. The appointment is a promotion for Lefkowitz, who previously served as head of US risk management for the company. He will now be responsible for underwriting management of XL Catlin’s North America primary casualty platform.

CRO of Keycorp to retire
Bill Hartmann, chief risk officer of Keycorp, has announced his intention to retire in 2018. The bank-based financial services company has named Mark Midkiff, currently chief credit officer at BB&T, to replace Hartmann.

CROs moving up the ladder:

  • Peter J Federico, former CRO of AGNC, promoted to president and COO
  • UBS risk management alum Chew Mun-Yew appointed to market head of Taiwan and group head of Greater China for private banking group Julius Baer
  • Dr Jan Petracek named COO and board director of Ergomed; he is a former head of risk management at the European Medicines Agency
  • BNF Bank appoints Maruska Buttigieg Gili as CRO
  • Toyota Motor North America names Scott Cooke group vice president and CRO
