US-based insurance brokerage and risk management firm Risk Strategies has appointed insurance industry veteran William Holden to oversee the firm’s Western regional operations.

Holden brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance and brokerage industry to the role. He is described as having extensive sales and management skills having worked with various insurance firms including Chubb, Aon, USI, Wells Fargo Insurance Services and Gallagher. He is also said to be highly successful in balancing customer needs, corporate strategies and program execution while increasing revenues, retention and profitability for local, regional and national offices.

“We see in Bill the right mix of experience in management, sales and client service that will enable him to serve as mentor, advocate and catalyst for the people, clients and business goals of our Western regional operations,” Risk Strategies president John Mina said.

“Today’s market for risk management and insurance placement is changing rapidly,” Holden noted. “I see my role as harnessing my decades of experience to help Risk Strategies’ Western region operate as a nimble, seamless whole in order to better serve clients and win more high value business.”

Holden’s appointment comes as part of Risk Strategies’ larger effort to refine its national business operations. Risk Strategies’ western regional operations include multiple offices in California and Oregon. Holden will be based in Burlingame, California.
