The Risk Management Association (RMA) has revealed the keynote speaker at its annual conference, who will speak on the state of the economy as risk managers are starting to become more concerned about the impending recession.

Victor Calanog, chief economist and senior vice president of research at real estate data source Reis Inc., will talk about the state of the economy at a time of market volatility and provide information mainly on the markets, valuation, and real estate portfolio analytics.

“Victor brings an entertaining perspective to what is happening to the economy. He breaks down complex theories into usable information and leaves the audience well informed on what is occurring in real estate and the general economy,” said Bill Loftus, director of member relations at RMA.

The RMA Annual Risk Management Conference 2019 will also feature leading banking industry experts who will share their experiences related to LIBOR risk management, CECL, and disruption. The professionals are also expected to share their views regarding changes to the current credit cycle.

Additionally, the conference will include sessions about artificial intelligence, reputation risk, third-party risk management, and mergers and acquisitions.

The conference will be held on October 27 to 29, 2019 at Hyatt Regency, New Orleans.
