As Munich Re’s senior vice president of the innovation underwriting unit, Maureen Brown manages the unit that focuses on new and emerging risks, including identifying, researching and underwriting new and emerging risks with the goal of fostering new areas of growth. She also leads a team of underwriters and actuaries who are trained to look at risks differently.
“It is our mission to focus on using innovative methodologies to deliver value added products, services and solutions to our clients and distribution partners,” she says, “and leverage our expertise in new and emerging risks that can’t be written in traditional commercial markets today.”
Prior to her current role, Brown was a casualty underwriter in the chief underwriting office of the specialty markets division, focused on emerging issues such as drones, terrorism and cyber. In addition she is a topic expert on the sharing economy, the future of mobility and autonomous vehicles.
