As the leader of Travelers Institute, the public policy division of The Travelers Companies, Joan Woodward has hosted hundreds of educational events in communities across the country on the topics of cybersecurity, small business challenges, the essentials of personal insurance, disaster preparedness, America’s debt crisis and coastal wind insurance. The Institute draws upon the expertise of Travelers’ senior management, risk professionals and other experts to provide information, analysis and recommendations to public policymakers and regulators. Prior to joining Travelers, Woodward worked on Capitol Hill for 12 years before heading the Global Markets Institute at Goldman Sachs.
