After a decade of working for a large national broker as a perennial winner’s circle producer, in October 2016, Luke Sherman acquired his clients and his team and formed Insurance Risk Managers with Troxell, a boutique agency specializing in middle-market and insurance risk clients.
Client-focused and team-oriented, Sherman’s mantra for every team decision is to “think from our client’s perspective.” His innovative risk management and active claims approach has helped his client base reduce cost of risk by more than 15% over the past three years, leading to a client retention rate of more than 93%, even through the transition. Sherman has shared his passion and knowledge as a guest speaker on worker’s comp for the University of Illinois College of Law and by serving on the advisory board for Brickstreet/Motorist Insurance.
