Alan Jay Kaufman is chairman, president and CEO of HW Kaufman Group, headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan. He is also the founding senior partner of a Detroit and Farmington Hills law firm, Kaufman, Payton & Chapa. An energetic leader and entrepreneur, Kaufman identified and capitalised on the opportunity to improve client services and to expand the company through vertical integration. In 1996, Kaufman took private the HW Kaufman Group, a successful public company founded by his late father. Strategic acquisitions and global expansion have given the Kaufman books a portfolio of insurance-related companies that draw expertise and strength from each other to better serve clients.
