President of Berkley Re America (BRAM)
In July 2019, W. R. Berkley appointed Dan Westcott as president of Berkley Re America. With more than 20 years of experience in the P&C reinsurance market, Westcott spent almost three years as chief operating officer of reinsurance for Navigators, a brand of The Hartford. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president at Willis Re (2005-2016), and vice president at Guy Carpenter (1998-2005). He started his financial services career as actuary with the American International Group in 1997. Wescott was named as one of the Hot 100 industry professionals by Insurance Business America for two consecutive years, 2019 and 2020. He earned his BA Economics degree from Rollins College, and his master’s degree in Finance and Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business.
