Hamish McDonald Nye is the executive director of ProRisk and Armada underwriting agencies, tasked with leading a dynamic insurance business, designing and distributing insurance products for the Australian insurance market. He has held this role since August 2017. He started his insurance career as a financial lines broker at Blackburn Insurance Brokers, then moved to Freeman McMurrick as client manager for financial lines. He also worked at Aon Risk Services as senior account executive, from 2006 to 2012, specialising in financial lines (D&O, PI, EPL, crime, trustees, statutory liability) for Victorian, Tasmanian, and South Australian corporate placements. He then moved to DUAL Australia in October 2012 as senior underwriter for corporate, was promoted to financial lines manager for the Southern region just nine months later, before becoming southern region manager, with responsibility for Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, and Tasmania, in May 2014. Nye made it to the 2014 Insurance Business Young Guns list. Nye studied economics at Monash University.
