Louis Gagnon is the president of Intact Insurance’s Canadian operations. He took up the top job at Intact in December 2017, after serving five years as Intact’s president of service and distribution. In his current role, Gagnon is responsible for all Canadian-based business entities (Intact Insurance, belairdirect, Anthony Insurance, and BrokerLink) and oversees personal lines, commercial lines, and marketing functions. Prior to this role, he was president and COO of Intact Financial Corporation for two years. He was also president of Intact Insurance from 2008 to 2011. He joined Intact Insurance as senior vice president, Québec division in January 2007. Gagnon began his insurance career in 1992, after working several years in the banking and consulting businesses. Prior to joining Intact, he headed a successful brokerage, with offices in Québec and Ontario, and was active within the provincial and national brokers’ associations. Gagnon is past president of the Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Québec and director of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada. Gagnon has been featured in last year’s Global 100. He earned a BA in Economic Science from the Université de Montréal and an MBA from the University of Ottawa.
