For more than half a century, K&K Insurance has been “insuring the world’s fun” by providing a wide range of sports, leisure and entertainment insurance products. Created by motorsports enthusiasts Nord and Teddi Krauskopf in 1952 as a benevolent fund to provide accident medical benefi ts to injured racecar drivers, K&K eventually leveraged its knowledge and experience of motorsports to create numerous specialty products for all aspects of that industry. Throughout the 1960s and '70s, K&K participated in a variety of racing events as a team owner/sponsor, including winning NASCAR’s Grand National Championship in 1970, led by Hall of Fame driver Bobby Isaac, and setting a closed-course world speed record in 1971 that remained for 13 years.

Over time, K&K expanded into leisure events that offered motorsports entertainment, such as fairs and festivals; eventually, the company grew to insure sports organizations and facilities, in addition to recreational organizations.

Today, K&K offers coverage for more than 70 programs in the sports, leisure, entertainment, recreation and motorsports industries.

Working with those industries is not without its unique challenges. “K&K relies on our underwriters, many with decades of experience writing niche program business, for their knowledge of industries that range from campgrounds to professional sports facilities, to accurately assess and quote specialty coverage based on the need of each client,” says president and CEO Todd Bixler. “And, when incidents do occur, K&K’s claims division is equally experienced in the resolution and defense of claims on our clients’ behalf. Our clients are the first priority at K&K.”
