Aviva Asia has appointed Randy Lianggara as regional executive for Indonesia and Vietnam, effective June 16. He will report to Chris Wei, executive chairperson of Aviva Asia and global chairperson of Aviva Digital.

Lianggara joins from AXA Indonesia, where he was chief executive officer since 2007. Prior to that, he was CEO of MLC Indonesia since 2002, until the firm was acquired by AXA in 2006.

Aviva will also nominate Lianggara, subject to regulatory approval, as president commissioner of Indonesia’s Astra Aviva Life, an equal joint venture between Aviva and Astra International. He will coordinate closely with Aviva’s joint venture partners in Asia, such as Astra in Indonesia and VietinBank in Vietnam, to grow the business in these emerging markets.
