ZA Tech has partnered with international consumer finance provider Home Credit for insurance value-added services, with Home Credit distributing insurance products using the insurtech’s distribution technology.

The partnership will enable Home Credit to further meet its customer demand and address the widening insurance gap in Asia, starting with a suite of insurance products for the Vietnam market in June. Once online, Home Credit users in the country will be able to apply for financing on insurance add-ons such as new and used mobile phone coverage, extended warranty (EW), and accidental damage and liquid damage (ADLD), all of which are new types of coverage in Vietnam. ZA Tech will source insurance and third-party partners to supply the products.

Home Credit group chief customer and strategy officer Frederic Tardy said that this new cooperation between the financier and ZA Tech will disrupt the insurance sector in Vietnam and Asia more broadly.

“As the region emerges from the worst of the pandemic, there is a growing realisation among many of our customers that they lack adequate levels of insurance protection. Our strong track record in developing seamless digital services combined with ZA Tech’s longstanding expertise in delivering innovative Insurtech solutions represents a compelling offer to our customers,” Tardy said.

Recently, ZA Tech has also entered a joint venture deal with used car marketplace Carro for car insurance products and more insurance lines in the future.
