Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has announced the appointment of Martin Zschech (pictured above) – currently regional head of distribution for central and eastern Europe – to the newly created role of global head of industry solutions and client management, effective Jan. 1. In addition, Zschech will succeed Paul Schiavone in the role of global industry solutions director for financial services.

Zschech will report to Jeremy Sharpe, global head of distribution. In his new role, he will increase focus on driving AGCS’s Global Industry Solutions (GIS), an industry-led distribution approach.

“Clients and brokers are our priority, and we are grateful that we’ve seen very strong results in our annual customer satisfaction survey this year,” said Henning Haagen, chief regions and market officer and board member of AGCS. “In his new role, Martin will ensure that we continue to further develop our industry-focused distribution strategy and evolve our client relationship management and service levels in a globally consistent approach. With his underwriting background and customer insight, Martin will be an effective advocate for all customer topics in our organisation.”

GIS is part of the company’s “NEW AGCS” strategy. It targets specific industry segments, with GIS directors as single points of contact who work closely with underwriting and account management to create industry-specific expertise.

With the creation of the new role, existing GIS directors Blanca Berruguete (construction) and Jody Yee (technology, media and telecom), along with Nishma Tate in global client management, will report to Zschech. AGCS will add an additional GIS director for energy and renewables in the near future.
