AmTrust International selects board members for European businesses

AmTrust International has made a trio of board appointments for its businesses in Europe. 

According to the multinational company, here are the three arrivals:

• Nigel Meyer – independent non-executive director, AmTrust Europe Limited (AEL)
• Peter Farrell – chief financial officer and board member, AmTrust International Underwriters DAC (AIU)
• Uma Baska – independent non-executive director, AIU

Aside from CFO, Farrell will also serve as head of investments. His more than two decades of financial services experience spans positions at Allianz Worldwide Care, AXA, and Allied World Assurance Europe.

Baska, meanwhile, is a general insurance actuary whose international career has seen her advise large insurance companies for more than 20 years. Her credentials include time spent at PwC, EY, and Zurich Financial Services.

Meyer, who also becomes AEL’s whistleblowing champion, was chief financial officer at Canopius Group and chief operating officer of Brit Insurance. The seasoned executive and qualified chartered accountant worked at RSA and Aviva, as well.

AEL is located in Britain while AIU is an Irish entity. AmTrust International is an insurance subsidiary of US-based AmTrust Financial Services, Inc.
