Beazley has named Rachel Turk (pictured) to the position of head of corporate development.

Turk succeeds Mark Goodman, who retires after serving the company for 11 years. As head of corporate development, she will work closely with Beazley’s board, as well as the executive and underwriting committees, to develop corporate strategy and business plans. She will also oversee product innovation and corporate transactions.

Turk joined Beazley in January 2009, initially serving as an analyst in the management liability team; she later moved into underwriting. From 2015, Turk led the London D&O team, which focused on US-domiciled business. In that role, she also led the launch of Beazley’s Reputational Risk product earlier this year.

Prior to joining Beazley, Turk was an equity analyst. On top of her insurance expertise, she is also a qualified accountant.

In her new role, Turk will report to Beazley chief executive Andrew Horton.

”I’m delighted that Rachel has accepted the head of corporate development role,” remarked Horton, who also commented on Turk’s analytical approach and wide understanding of Beazley and market forces – which makes her a key asset to the senior team.

Horton also took the opportunity in his statement to thank Mark Goodman for his contributions to the company for the past 11 years.

Following Turk’s transition into her new role, the London D&O team will now be led by Wayne Imrie. Imrie has been with Beazley for 13 years, serving as an executive risks underwriter focusing on US employment practices liability and private company D&O. He also led the wage & hour product. He was a broker with Marsh before joining Beazley.
