Chaucer expands its international property team

Firm makes two appointments, both coming from the same major insurance company

Chaucer, a specialist Lloyd’s insurer, has made two additions to its international property underwriting group, with the appointment of John Eggleston as head of international property fac and Richard Richards as class underwriter international property fac.

The international property team provides Chaucer’s clients with a commercial approach and robust technical underwriting services.
 
Eggleston and Richards have over 40 years of combined market experience, and are both highly respected in their fields.
 
The pair join Chaucer from Generali, where Eggleston was head of property underwriting for both UK and international markets. Meanwhile, Richards was a senior property underwriter at Generali. He has also worked for several major insurers such as Zurich, QBE, and Allianz.
 
John Fowle, chief underwriting officer at Chaucer, said: “We are excited to welcome John and Richard to Chaucer. Chaucer is headquartered in London, with international operations in Copenhagen and Singapore, as well as affiliate offices in New York and Miami.
