Chubb has appointed Scott Simpson as country president for its general insurance business in Singapore, succeeding Adam Clifford, who recently relocated for a European role.

Moving from Sydney to Singapore, Simpson will report to Paul McNamee, regional president for Chubb in Asia-Pacific. He will be in charge of the growth and financial results of the operations in Singapore across all lines of business – property & casualty, accident & health, and personal lines. Prior to the appointment, he was head of state distribution, Australia, for Chubb, where he led the national underwriting centre, independent broker unit, and global broker unit underwriting teams.

In 2005, Simpson joined Chubb as commercial lines underwriter, based in Sydney. He later held several leadership roles such as branch manager for Melbourne and head of the company’s Northern Australia operations.

McNamee commented: “Scott is a skilful leader with a proven track record of success. I’m confident that he has the breadth and depth of experience to steer the company to match the ambition and opportunity which Singapore affords us as a highly strategic market for our Asia-Pacific business.”
