Chubb to open business services centre in India

Insurance giant Chubb has announced that it will open a business services centre in India to support its global insurance operations’ information technology, digital and analytics functions.

The centre, known as Chubb Business Services – India, will be located in Hyderabad and Bangalore, and will employ technical professionals providing support in various areas such as intelligent process automation, digital technology, data analytics, catastrophe modelling, and risk management, a statement from the insurer said, adding that the centre will launch with over 100 positions available, with plans for further expansion over the next several years.

According to Chubb, the India facilities will supplement its business and innovation centres in Jersey City, Miami, and Singapore.

“One of Chubb’s strategic priorities is to transform our company to be truly compelling in a digital age,” said Sean Ringsted, Chubb’s chief risk officer and chief digital officer. “To further advance our progress, we need internal talent capable of executing our digital technology and analytics work at the pace and scale that the business is now seeking. That includes building and expanding critical digital skills and expertise in data analytics, machine learning, quantitative sciences and intelligent process automation.”

The India centre’s staff will be hired locally in partnership with local technology companies, such as Tetrasoft and BRIDGEi2i, and academic institutions

“By hiring and developing our own talent, we will have greater control over the capabilities and projects we are developing to enhance the experience for our customers and business partners, introduce innovative products, streamline processes and improve efficiency,” Ringsted said.
