Dual Group appoints new COO and directors

Firm appoints chief operating officer and two non-executive directors, as a board member steps down

Dual Group, a specialist underwriter under the Hyperion Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Stephen Manning as chief operating officer, as well as David Ibeson and Ralph Snedden as non-executive directors.
 
Manning’s appointment will be effective on September 5, while Ibeson and Snedden will join earlier, on July 20.
 
Prior to joining Dual, Manning spent 11 years at Sompo Canopius, where he was group COO since 2012. He has also served a stint as chief risk officer at the same company. His career in the insurance industry began in 1998 with Lloyd’s where he was head of market supervision and head of risk management.
 
As COO, Manning will focus on ensuring the company has the right operational systems and processes in place to allow the underwriting teams to provide the company’s clients the highest quality service possible.
 
Snedden is currently a non-executive director at Markel International and chairman of Eurinsure. He has 40 years’ experience in international insurance, including a role as CEO of Euler Hermes International. Meanwhile, Ibeson is CEO of Apollo, a Lloyd’s insurer. Before joining Apollo in 2012, he was CEO of Catlin Syndicate and Catlin UK.
 
Alan Grant, non-executive director and deputy chairman of DUAL International has stepped down from the board.
