FWD Group Holdings has appointed Jeremy Porter as group chief risk officer, subject to regulatory approval. Porter will be a member of the group’s executive committee and will report to Huynh Thanh Phong, CEO and executive director of FWD Group.

Porter is an actuary with over 30 years of experience, having held various risk, finance and actuarial roles. He joins FWD from AXA, where he was chief risk officer for Hong Kong and Macau. Porter will lead the group’s risk and compliance functions, succeeding Niall Grady, who had been serving in an interim capacity since April 2022. Grady will remain in his role of group chief compliance officer and will report to Porter.

“Jeremy brings meaningful and deep risk management experience to FWD, and I am delighted to have him join us at this important juncture in the group’s growth and evolution,” Huynh said. “I look forward to working with him as we continue to play a role in addressing Asia’s significantly underserved life insurance market.”

“It is an exciting time to be joining FWD as the company continues to execute on its mission of changing the way people feel about insurance,” Porter said. “I look forward to working with Phong and the rest of the leadership team as we build and develop FWD’s leading pan-Asian franchise.”
