Gallagher has appointed Matthew Haine to the role of managing partner of its property practice.

In the role, Haine will support clients in the Asia-Pacific and South Africa regions. He will do this by putting together risk management platforms through the London Market, Europe, and Bermuda. He will also head up a team of six property specialists, and will report to Gallagher P&C managing partner Malcolm Payton.

Haine most recently served as a senior vice president for the FAC division of Guy Carpenter. Apart from Guy Carpenter, he has also held senior roles at Benfield and Aon.

“The opportunity to join a global business with a real focus on clients, was an option I couldn’t pass by,” commented Haine on his appointment. “The firm has a fantastic reputation as a business that stays true to its values throughout its dealing with clients and the industry, providing bespoke insurance programmes and accessing markets across the world to give clients the very best risk management solutions.”

“Matthew brings with him an excellent reputation and in-depth knowledge of complex specialist risks in the property market, so he is a fantastic addition to our specialty team,” said Gallagher P&C managing partner Malcolm Payton.
