GoBear, an online metasearch engine for insurance and banking products, has launched in Vietnam, its sixth market in Asia.

The Singapore-based startup offers transparent and comprehensive comparison of various financial products, free of charge. Upon opening in Vietnam, the initial product offering includes only credit cards and personal loans, with almost 200 credit cards and 50 lending institutions to choose from. Other products, such as life insurance, will be launched soon.

“GoBear is excited to offer our products in Vietnam as we see an immense opportunity for growth here,” said Andre Hesselink, GoBear founder and CEO. “Vietnam is an emerging market with huge potential in the banking and insurance sectors, as well as the booming e-commerce space. We are confident that this new way of searching for financial products will help Vietnamese users make a more informed decision.”

Established in Singapore in 2015, GoBear soon made pawprints in several other Asian markets, namely: Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and now Vietnam. In less than two years, over 4.5 million users have availed of its services.

“GoBear does not sell products directly but offers consumers a free, easy and transparent comparison experience based on personalized needs,” said Tran Nhat Khanh, GoBear Vietnam’s country director. “GoBear is not influenced by service providers’ advertising and therefore, is able at all times to maintain impartiality and help users save time and money,”
