Re/insurance brokerage and consultancy firm JLT Re has appointed Jonathan Garnett as managing director for Malaysia. He will be based in Kuala Lumpur and report to Stuart Beatty, CEO of JLT Re APAC.
 
In his new role, Garnett will head the newly established division in Malaysia and work towards creating a team to serve domestic carriers in the region. He will also be in charge of growing business in Asia-Pacific.
 
Garnett has over 30 years’ re/insurance experience, with the past 19 based in Malaysia.
 
Beatty commented on the appointment: “We are delighted Jo is joining the group. His knowledge and experience of the Malaysian market through many years of living in Malaysia complements our approach to servicing clients locally. Our strategy in the region is focused on developing market leading teams in key countries that will enable us to establish a long-term presence.”
