Lloyd Haynes will join the business as senior underwriter, international casualty, and will cover the Asia-Pacific market from his base in Singapore.

Haynes has worked in the industry for more than a decade and joins XL Catlin from Allied World Assurance Company where he was assistant vice president for general casualty.

Daniel Fay, regional product leader, international casualty, insurance – Asia, said that the appointment of Haynes, with his industry experience, highlights the breadth and depth of XL Catlin’s offering in Asia.

“XL Catlin provides Public and Product  Liability insurance to a wide range of clients across Asia Pacific and globally, operating in various sectors including Agriculture, Construction, Energy/Utilities, Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Infrastructure, Logistics, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Retail/Wholesale and Service industries,” Fay said.

“These clients make significant contributions to local economies and having the right insurance coverage in place can be critical to their ongoing success.

“Given Lloyd’s broad experience underwriting international, complex and specialist casualty business in Asia Pacific, I believe he is well-positioned to address these clients’ evolving needs.”

XL Catlin country manager for Singapore and regional leader for crisis management, Asia Pacific, David Guest, said that Haynes' varied skill-set will help XL Catlin’s clients in an ever-changing market.

“The risk our clients face are morphing and developing at a rapid pace; a situation brought about by the globalised nature of trade. In order to respond to our clients’ needs today and tomorrow, we need a varied blend of skills, people and mind-sets.

“I believe that Lloyd has exactly the right expertise and is a great addition to the team here in Asia Pacific,” Guest continued.

Haynes began his career in London with QBE Europe/DAC 386 Syndicate in 2005 before moving to Singapore in 2012.
