Marsh has appointed Chou Sean Chong (pictured above) as CEO of Marsh Insurance Brokers (Malaysia), effective Jan. 1. He is based in Kuala Lumpur and will report to James Addington-Smith, CEO, South Asia, Marsh.

Chou will succeed CB Lim, who will move into the role of chief client officer, in addition to his other current roles as a board director of Marsh Malaysia and country corporate officer of Marsh McLennan Malaysia.

Currently deputy CEO of Marsh Malaysia, Chou joined the company in 2007 as head of business development. He also served as Marsh Malaysia’s specialty leader for four years before taking on his current role.

“Sean’s deep industry knowledge and risk management expertise will be invaluable in supporting our clients in Malaysia amid a volatile economic landscape,” Addington-Smith said. “I look forward to working closely with Sean to help businesses in the country navigate an increasingly dynamic and complex risk environment.”

“Companies in Malaysia are facing a wide range of emerging risks such as inflation, environmental risks, business or supply chain interruption, cyberattacks and geopolitical tension,” Chou said. “I am excited by the opportunity to work with the talented team at Marsh Malaysia as we deliver the advice and solutions to help our clients build climate resilience, narrow protection gaps, mitigate cyber risk and advance healthy societies.”
