Marsh has appointed Mohit Kanthra as leader of Marsh Specialty, Asia, effective July 1.
Kanthra will be based in Singapore and report to Lucy Clarke, president, Marsh Specialty and Global Placement, and David Jacob, CEO of Marsh Asia. He will also join Marsh’s Asia leadership team and the global specialty executive committee.
As Asia leader for Marsh Specialty, Kanthra will be responsible for Marsh Specialty’s energy and power, credit, marine, financial and professional, private equity and M&A, construction, and Aviation businesses across the region. He will succeed Simon Delchar, who was recently appointed as head of placement, UK and Ireland, Marsh.
Currently head of energy and power, Asia, Kanthra joined Marsh in 2006 and held several senior management positions since then. Before joining Marsh, he was an assistant manager at Tata AIG General Insurance in India for four years.
“Throughout his career, Mohit has built a reputation as a respected leader and has developed strong relationships – both locally and globally – with colleagues, clients and insurers alike,” Clarke said. “His experience will be invaluable to our Asia clients as we support their growth and assist them in unlocking future possibilities.”
“Organizations operating in Asia face an increasingly volatile business landscape, with issues such as climate change, heightened cyber risk, and emerging geopolitical threats,” Jacob said. “Mohit brings a wealth of experience to this role, which will be of great benefit to our clients and colleagues alike.”
