Metis Global Group and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) have renewed their collaborative agreement, reaffirming their joint commitment to advancing education and professional development in the insurance sector.
The renewal was formalised during a luncheon hosted by CII in Singapore, with Dr German Cheung (pictured right), founder and chairman of Metis, in attendance.
In a statement marking the occasion, Cheung said the renewal marks a new milestone, reaffirming the group’s dedication to enhancing professional education and driving innovation in the insurance sector.
“We are privileged to extend our partnership with CII. This renewal marks a new milestone, reaffirming our dedication to enhancing professional education and driving innovation in the insurance sector as we look ahead to 2025,” he said.
He emphasised the importance of identifying innovative collaboration models to foster growth and further professionalise the industry.
The renewal ceremony was attended by industry leaders and stakeholders, including CII CEO Matthew Hill (pictured left), who travelled from the UK for the event.
Other participants included representatives from the Singapore Insurance Institute, CII members from Hong Kong and the UK, and additional international partners. Attendees exchanged ideas on current market challenges and explored strategies for greater international cooperation.
Metis Global Group specialises in trust and wealth management services for clients in Asia. Its subsidiaries – including Metis Global (Singapore) Pte Limited, Metis Global Limited, and Metis Global (Cook Islands) Limited – provide asset protection solutions from jurisdictions recognised for robust trust laws.
The partnership, which designates Metis as CII’s first International Professional Partner Firm in Asia, has produced several initiatives aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge within the insurance field.
One of the notable projects is the LEAD (Learning, Enhance, and Development) program. This initiative provides tailored educational content for insurance practitioners, including webinars that explore emerging industry trends and deliver insights to help participants remain competitive.
Building on these efforts, Metis also supported the “Certified Insurance Professionals Induction Course,” which CII launched in 2024 in partnership with HKU SPACE. This sponsorship highlights Metis’s ongoing focus on expanding access to professional training in the region.
This collaboration underscores the efforts of both Metis and CII to strengthen the capabilities of insurance professionals across Asia and to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning in the industry.
