FWD Life Insurance (FWD Philippines) has expanded its Cebu Business Hub, reinforcing its operations in the Visayas region as part of its broader growth strategy in the Philippines.
The company officially reopened the hub on Dec. 4, unveiling a larger facility designed to enhance customer access to financial services and accommodate a growing network of financial advisors.
Manuel “Jumbing” De Rosas, FWD Philippines president and CEO, said the expansion is part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its distribution channels and improve service reach.
“This development contributes to nation-building by creating additional jobs, enhancing our workforce, and extending financial inclusion to the next generation of Filipinos. Through this, we also aim to protect more Filipinos and assist them in building a better future,” he said.
FWD Philippines has been expanding across the country over the past decade and now operates 17 business hubs nationwide.
Alongside its expansion efforts, FWD Philippines has been recognised with multiple industry awards, highlighting its performance in corporate governance and digital insurance innovation.
The company secured the second spot in the 2024 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), a global recognition for financial services professionals. Additionally, it received two Golden Arrows from the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, which evaluates corporate governance practices among publicly listed companies in the region.
Its data protection officer was also named one of the top five finalists in the 2024 Privacy Awareness Week Awards.
De Rosas said the recognitions reaffirm the company’s commitment to contributing to national development by enhancing financial security and accessibility.
“These awards showcase our unwavering commitment to nation-building as we strengthen our position as the insurer of the next generation,” he said.
FWD Philippines also received industry recognition for its insurance product tailored for gamers, “The One for Gamers,” developed in partnership with the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines (MPL-PH). The product won Tech Innovator of the Year – Advertiser at the Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines’ Boomerang Awards.
“Innovation is just one part of the solution to expanding financial inclusion in our country. We will continue to work together with our partners to help more Filipinos build their best future,” De Rosas said.
