Manulife and Prudential have made a series of senior leadership appointments across Asia in recent weeks, with both insurers filling roles in technology, distribution, strategy, and regional leadership as they position for growth in the region.

Manulife names new Asia technology chief

Manulife has promoted Andy Bruce to chief information officer of Manulife Asia, effective October 1, 2026. Bruce previously held the CIO role for the insurer’s Hong Kong and Macau operations, where he oversaw one of the market’s largest technology delivery portfolios.

Steve Finch, president & CEO of Manulife Asia, said the appointment reflects the company’s focus on digital capabilities and artificial intelligence across the region. “Andy is a proven technology leader with a strong track record of execution, innovation, and talent development. His leadership will be invaluable as we strengthen our digital capabilities, scale AI responsibly across our operations, and create better experiences for customers and colleagues across Asia,” Finch said.

Manulife, headquartered in Toronto, operates across 25 markets globally and had more than 37,000 employees and over 106,000 agents at the end of 2025. The insurer trades on the Toronto, New York, Philippine, and Hong Kong stock exchanges.

In a separate development, Erica Wong announced on LinkedIn that she has joined Manulife Singapore as agency management & business development Manager. Wong previously served as AVP agency business development at Great Eastern for four years.
