Howden, the retail broking arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed Bozidar Ljubisavljevic as regional marine practice leader of its Turkey, Middle East and Africa (TMEA) region.

Ljubisavljevic is based in Howden’s Dubai office and leads the specialty marine team in the region. He joined the firm from Marsh, where he was head of the regional marine specialty practice for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. He brings over 18 years’ experience, with a deep knowledge of the marine insurance broking field, including H&M, P&I, marine liability and cargo, and advising clients on effective contractual risk mitigation strategies.

According to Ljubisavljevic, he aims to help create a marine centre of excellence in the region by harnessing the local knowledge and international experience of the team. The appointment expands Howden TMEA’s specialty focus and capabilities across various marine insurance products including hull & machinery, war risks, loss of hire, protection & indemnity, defence (FDD), builders’ risk, ship repairers’ liability, cargo & stock throughput, and others.

“I am glad that we are attracting exceptional talent that shares Howden’s vision and has over and above the necessary industry knowledge,” said Atinc Yilmaz, CEO of Howden TMEA. “Our investment in marine is aligned to our vision to build a strong specialty offering for our clients and I am confident that under the leadership of Bozidar, the marine specialty team will grow and strengthen our client offering.”
