As the demand for analytical insight in reinsurance transactions grows, Lockton Re has appointed Darsh Patel to lead transaction structuring and reserving analytics globally and Jack McGregor to head retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions for North America.

Patel will be based in London, while McGregor will operate from Chicago.

McGregor’s role also covers the continued development of the firm’s casualty segment in North America.

According to James Dickerson, head of retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions at Lockton Re, both appointments combine more than 50 years of industry experience and contribute to the firm’s claims, reserving analytics, and executive broking functions.

Patel joins Lockton Re from Aon, where he served as a legacy actuary within its capital advisory team. His career spans more than two decades, with experience at Riverstone International, BDO, Tradewise Insurance Services, and James, Brennan & Associates, among others.

McGregor previously worked at Fortitude Re as chief P&C reinsurance officer. Before that, he held senior positions at AIG, including CEO of its subsidiary Eaglestone Re. Earlier in his career, he practiced law as a trial litigator and later served as counsel to the Kemper Insurance Companies.

Eric Paire, head of Capital Advisory at Lockton Re, said Patel and McGregor are joining the retrospective and legacy team led by Dickerson.

“They enhance our capabilities in the US, the London market and Europe at a point in the insurance cycle where retrospective solutions are extremely useful tools for our clients to manage capital, and profit and loss,” said Paire. “Both these new roles will work with Lockton Re clients and colleagues across the globe.”
