Lockton Re has appointed James Dickerson (pictured above) as head of retrospective reinsurance and legacy solutions within its capital advisory practice.
He will be based in the firm’s London office and will lead Lockton Re’s global initiatives in the legacy and retrospective reinsurance space.
Dickerson joins Lockton Re from Gallagher Re, where he served as global head of retrospective solutions since 2021. His prior experience includes senior roles at Willis Re, RPC, WTW, and EMB Consulting, having started his career at Capita.
Lockton Re’s capital advisory function is structured around four key areas: financial analysis and capital consulting, Lloyd’s-specific capital deployment including syndicate formation, structured reinsurance, and global legacy solutions.
Eric Paire, head of capital advisory at Lockton Re, said Dickerson will be responsible for leading the global retrospective and legacy segment within this framework.
Paire himself was appointed to lead the practice last month, working with a team of 10 capital advisory specialists to provide tailored solutions for re/insurance clients. He also plays a key role in driving the company’s growth in France and other French-speaking markets.
Outside of this division, Lockton Re also recently made moves to bolster its foothold in other markets. In March, The reinsurance broker expanded its leadership team with two key appointments in London and Brazil, reinforcing its specialty and Latin America & Caribbean (LAC) reinsurance capabilities.
Tom Meyer has joined Lockton Re as head of the specialty division in London, taking over from Paul Upton, who will transition to chairman of the division.
In Brazil, Rodrigo Botti has joined Lockton Re as treaty country head, based in São Paulo, as part of the LAC team. Botti has held senior positions in the Brazilian reinsurance sector, including vice president, CFO, and chief actuarial and technology officer at IRB Re.
