Acrisure Re has named a new global executive vice president as the firm continues to expand its operations internationally.
Joel Hodges began his tenure on March 1. He is based in London but will serve in a global capacity, and brings over two decades of experience in the reinsurance and insurance industry to his new role.
Before joining Acrisure Re, Hodges served as the international head of analytics at Howden Tiger, where he led data analytics initiatives across all product lines and spearheaded efforts to boost business performance. His previous experience also included several senior positions at Liberty Mutual, notably as the head of portfolio management for Global Risk Solutions.

His background spans actuarial science, underwriting, reinsurance purchasing, broking, and portfolio management.
His appointment is expected to play a crucial role in crafting strategic reinsurance treaty solutions for clients. Simon Hedley, Acrisure Re Global CEO, commented on Hodges’ appointment, highlighting his significant contributions to the field.
“Joel’s proven track record in building re/insurance solutions, and expertise in data analytics to guide strategic decision-making, will be vital as we continue our successful global growth trajectory,” he said. “In addition, he will further enhance our analytical capabilities globally, ensuring our continued competitiveness at the highest level and our ability to design and execute transactions that support our clients’ strategic objectives.”

Hodges’ addition is just the latest in a series of swoops for the reinsurance business. Recently, Acrisure Re named Jim Botsis as the new head of its Chicago office.
