CBN appoints new executive, succeeds outgoing chairman

One of Canada’s largest independent insurance broker networks has appointed a new chairman to lead the organization.

Canadian Broker Network (CBN) has chosen Mike Robinson, the president and CEO of PBL Insurance, to serve as the new chairman.

Robinson replaces outgoing chairman Tim Miller, president of Capri Insurance Services. As chairman of CBN for the past three years, Miller devoted his efforts toward “fostering higher levels of collaboration between the members, growing the membership and laying the groundwork for CBN’s strategic direction,” a release said.

“On behalf of the CBN, I’d like to personally thank Tim for his insights and support.  His guidance has helped to set us on a successful course for the future,” said CBN managing director Lorie Phair.

CBN is currently composed of Capri Insurance Services, CMW Insurance Services, Lawrie Insurance Group, McLean Hallmark Insurance Group, PBL Insurance, Rogers Insurance, Smith, Petrie, Carr & Scott Insurance, South Western Group, and Bullfrog Insurance. The network originally began as a forum back in 2005, where brokers could share best practices.
