Canada Life has announced community investments to three charities as part of its annual Holiday Gift campaign.

This year, the company’s employees have chosen to offer financial support to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, and YMCA Canada.

RMHC was the most voted for charity and will receive a contribution of $50,000, according to a news release from Canada Life.

Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada will receive $25,000, having secured the second-highest number of votes. Meanwhile, YMCA Canada will be granted $10,000.

Since 2003, Canada Life has actively supported charitable causes, delivering over $1 million to 82 organizations. It began the Holiday Gift campaign as a way to assist these charities during a crucial period when they experience heightened demand for their services.

President and COO Jeff Macoun expounded on the initiative and the company’s commitment to fostering community growth.

“At Canada Life, we believe in coming together to enrich lives and strengthen communities,” said Macoun. “While our aim is to drive positive change year-round, we’re grateful to be able to give a little bit more during the holiday season. We’re hopeful that with our Holiday Gift campaign, the recipient charities can help even more families and communities when they need it most.”

Kate Horton, CEO of RMHC Canada, also commented on Canada Life’s contribution and conveyed appreciation for its support.

“As Canada’s national family care charity, RMHC has supported families with seriously ill children for more than 40 years,” said Horton.

“Today, 34 programs across the country give families a place to stay together while their child is treated at a nearby hospital, and provide support, tools and resources to make their journey a little easier. We are deeply grateful to Canada Life, and its employees, whose support will enable more than 298 nights of stay for RMHC families across Canada.”

In October, Canada Life joined IGM Financial, and the Power Corporation of Canada in donating $250,000 to provide humanitarian aid in response to the violence and civilian suffering unfolding in Israel, Gaza, and the broader Middle East.
