AIG has appointed Amanda Houlihan as head of marketing and communications for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore.

Houlihan’s appointment is effective January 13, and she will report to Sachin N. Shah, CEO of AIG Asia-Pacific and Ed Dandridge, global chief marketing & communications officer, general insurance, a statement from the insurer said.

“Amanda’s addition to the AIG Asia-Pacific leadership team demonstrates our continued investment in key positions and talent,” said Shah. “Amanda will lead regional marketing strategies, initiatives and communications to deliver our technical expertise and differentiated go-to-market value propositions to our customers and partners.”

She joins AIG from Agency Oodaloop, where she served as a director responsible for the company’s strategic, creative and financial management since 2014. Previously, she was global head of brand and marketing, wholesale bank at Standard Chartered Bank, the statement added. Earlier in her career, she worked at Nortel Networks, Travelex, ING Direct and M&C Saatchi.
