AIG has appointed Christian Sandric as president and chief executive officer of its Singapore arm, effective April 2019. He will report to Sachin N. Shah, Asia-Pacific CEO of AIG General Insurance.

In his new role, Sandric will lead AIG’s business and operations in Singapore and focus on strengthening its position in Southeast Asia’s insurance hub, a statement from the insurer read.

Sandric has held several leadership positions across multiple markets during his 20-year career with AIG. Prior to the appointment, he was head of personal insurance for AIG Japan, based in Tokyo.  He graduated with a bachelor of science in environmental conservation and international affairs from the University of New Hampshire.

“I am pleased to appoint Christian to lead our Singapore business. His deep industry expertise and international experience will bring enhanced value to our distribution partners and clients,” Shah said. “Christian will be a great addition to the Asia-Pacific leadership team as we focus on delivering sustainable, profitable growth.”
