AIG names Liam Burrell as APAC head of client & broker engagement

AIG has appointed Liam Burrell as head of client & broker engagement for general insurance in Asia-Pacific, effective October 29.

Based in Singapore, Burrell will report to Sachin N. Shah, chief executive officer of AIG Asia-Pacific, a statement from the insurer said.

“I am pleased to welcome Liam Burrell to AIG in his role as Asia-Pacific head of client & broker engagement,” said Shah. “Liam has extensive market leading experience, and his track record of developing high-performing teams and long-term relationships with distribution partners and clients will be a valuable addition to AIG. His appointment reinforces our commitment to delivering differentiated broker and customer offerings.”

Burrell has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, most recently at Chubb Insurance where he was division head for property & casualty in Singapore. He began his insurance career in 2002, when he joined ACE Group (now known as Chubb) in Sydney.

According to Burrell, in his new role, he will “develop and execute on go-to-market strategies and to fostering strong relationships with distribution partners and clients in support of our strategic objectives.”
