ArgoGlobal, a Lloyd’s insurer and member of ArgoGroup, has announced the appointment of Paul Lucas as chief actuary, international. Lucas will report to Bob Katzman, chief actuary for Argo Group.

“We are pleased to welcome Paul to the team,” Katzman said. “He has a long track record of leading global teams to identify growth opportunities and improve underwriting performance. In addition, his analytical capabilities in pricing and reserving, as well as his knowledge of key markets like Lloyd’s, will help ArgoGlobal execute its strategic plans successfully.”

Lucas has 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining ArgoGlobal, he served as global insurance chief actuary for Aspen. He joined Aspen in 2007 as a casualty reinsurance pricing actuary and progressed through a series of senior roles before his final role there. He began his insurance career as a pricing actuary at Conservium (now SCOR) in 2001.
