AXA offers free cleaning and sanitising for customers affected by COVID-19

AXA Hong Kong’s designated home contents insurance and SME customers are entitled to a “cleaning and sanitising benefit'' at no additional cost from 28 March until 30 April.

If a home contents insurance policyholder or anyone living with them at the insured address is tested positive for COVID-19 during the coverage period, AXA will reimburse the home cleaning and sanitising expense up to HKD800.

SmartPlan Office and SmartPlan Shop customers can enjoy up to HKD1,500 reimbursement for any home cleaning and sanitising service availed of after a current employee of the insured company at the insured premises has tested positive for COVID-19.

The claim must be submitted with a positive COVID-19 test report, receipt from the professional cleaning and sanitising service, and proof of address or attendance record of the COVID-19 case within one month from diagnosis.

In 2021, AXA became the first insurer to make “benefits for hospital income (COVID-19)” a standard policy provision for its employees benefits customers. This provides insured employees or their insured dependents hospitalised as a result of confirmed COVID-19 an additional daily hospital cash benefit of HKD700 for up to 45 days without waiting period.
