Beazley is expanding its financial lines practice in Singapore with two new additions to the team, both beginning in January 2019.

Harry Goh (pictured), has been appointed as underwriter for international financial lines. He has over 20 years’ experience in underwriting indemnity and medical malpractice risks in Singapore and will be responsible for underwriting a range of product lines including directors and officers, professional indemnity, financial institutions, medical malpractice, and cyber.

He joins Beazley from ERGO, where he developed the company’s financial lines business, as well as being responsible for casualty business and account handling for international brokers.

Meanwhile, Jessica Schappell will be in charge of managing financial lines claims for Asia-Pacific. She will relocate from Beazley’s New York office where she has worked since January 2007 in specialty lines claims. She initially managed cyber claims and has, more recently, managed complex claims on Beazley’s miscellaneous medical, hospital and long-term care portfolios. Prior to joining Beazley, Schappell was a claims analyst for AIG in New York.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Harry and Jessica to our team,” said Nicolas Tey, Asia regional manager for international financial lines business “Their depth of experience in risk and claims will help us to further develop our offering in Asia-Pacific.”
