Following the commencement of it operations last year, Brit Global Specialty Singapore has appointed David Lim as CEO, effective May 15, 2017.

Lim will work closely with Charles Barrett, chief underwriting officer for Asia-Pacific, to identify growth opportunities in the region and establish new lines of business. He will report to Christiern Dart, group chief underwriting officer of Brit.

Lim brings more than 15 years of experience in the marine insurance industry, as well as a successful record of growing businesses in the Singaporean insurance market. He is also a founding member and sole representative of Lloyd’s Asia on the Marine Insurance Committee under the General Insurance Association of Singapore.

Prior to being hired by Brit, he was head of marine for Asia at Argo Global. He has also worked at major insurers Allied World, RSA, and AON.

Matthew Wilson, Brit Group CEO, commented: “David brings with him a wealth of relationships and knowledge of the local market, something that is especially important when operating in the region and will be of significant benefit to Brit as we look to expand the business.”
