Canopius has appointed Gabrielle Folliard as head of claims. She will join the company and will report to Laurie Davison, group chief operating officer.

Folliard transfers to Canopius from Markel International, where she was most recently head of specialty and financial claims. She joined in 2014, as claims manager for professional & financial risk claims.

She is a qualified lawyer in the UK, having worked for seven years at CMS in their insurance and reinsurance practice. She entered the insurance industry with Beazley in 2007, where she was claims manager for specialty lines, managing a large portfolio of UK and international claims.

“Gabrielle has extensive experience in claims management and a strong background in insurance legal practice and is well regarded across the market,” Davison said. “She works collaboratively to achieve the best results for customers and all stakeholders. We are delighted to appoint her and look forward to welcoming her to the team.”
