Life insurance broker and high net worth specialist Charles Monat Associates has announced the appointment of a new CEO for its business in Hong Kong.

The firm has appointed Berry Wong in the role, who will take the reins from August 18.

Wong will join the operational committee of the business in a bid to boost the firm’s product and service offerings for its high-net worth clients in Hong Kong. He has more than 22 years’ experience in the banking and trust industry and was previously the regional head of wealth planning services, Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Wong worked for HSBC Private Banking.

“Berry’s unique talent and proven track record is a huge asset for Charles Monat as we move into a new era of tailored wealth strategies and protecting legacies to be passed to new generations,” Yves Guélat, Charles Monat’s Group CEO, said of the move.

The announcement of Wong’s appointment coincides with the firm receiving regulatory approval for a management buyout by the CMA executive team to acquire 100% of the Global Wealth Solutions business of Willis Towers Watson.

The two firms will enter into an agreement which will see clients given access to a global platform as CMA retains access to Willis Towers Watson’s human capital and risk services.
