Chubb has made two leadership appointments for its Thailand general insurance operations, both effective March 01, 2018 and subject to approval from Chubb’s board and industry regulators.

Khun Nittaya Piriyathamwong has been appointed as chairman of the executive committee, Chubb Samaggi. In her new role, she will lead the executive committee in undertaking the company’s major strategic objectives. She is currently Chubb’s country president for Thailand and was previously managing director of Siam Commercial Samaggi Insurance, which was acquired by Chubb in 2014. She will continue to report to Paul McNamee, Chubb’s regional president for Asia Pacific.

Meanwhile, Edward (Ed) Kopp will succeed Khun Nittaya as country president for Thailand. Kopp is currently country president for Chubb’s general insurance business in Korea, a position he has held for four years. He brings more than 20 years’ experience to his new role, having worked for several leading institutions in banking and insurance.

“I’m confident that in her new role, Khun Nittaya will continue to help grow our business through her strong market knowledge and relationships,” McNamee said regarding the appointments. “Going forward, we are fortunate to have such a talented and seasoned executive in Ed to assume a leadership position in our Thai business, one of the most dynamic and diverse in the region.”
