Global insurer Chubb has rolled out improvements for its work injury compensation insurance product known as Chubb Work Guard.

Under the revamped policy is a broader suite of insurance coverages, including an increased common law limit and a higher provision for medical expenses. These additions were incorporated with the product as a result of changing workplace safety and health management regulations in Singapore.

The product also offers benefits such as coverage for hospitalisation leave and non-occupational accidental death or total permanent disability, both of which exceed the statutory requirements. Twelve new benefits have also been added, among which are traditional Chinese medicine expenses, terrorism, funeral expenses, and compensation for accidental HIV infection.

According to the insurer, the new policy wording took effect on January 01, 2018, unless separately agreed.

“We have redesigned our product offering so that it remains competitive and tailored to our clients’ needs,” said Adam Clifford, Chubb’s country president for Singapore. “We aim to provide a best-in-class solution for our existing and potential clients so they have adequate protection to mitigate the impact of a workplace accident.”
