Global reinsurance, wholesale, and specialty brokerage Ed has appointed Souvik Goswami to lead its treaty business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and India and Indian sub-continent regions.

Based in Dubai, Goswami will report to Minesh Jani, CEO of Ed’s operations in the aforementioned regions. He will focus on new business opportunities in the regions and strengthening the company’s client relationships.

With 15 years’ experience in treaty reinsurance, Goswami joins Ed from Saudi Re, where he was most recently head of non-life underwriting, facultative, and treaty. Prior to that, he worked with Al Fajer Re and Tata AIG.

“Souvik’s a first-class addition to the team – and will make a significant impact on our service,” Jani commented on the appointment. “Not only does he know the MENA and South Asian markets inside out, he’s also highly-respected by clients within those markets. Together with his strengths in analytics, he’s ideally-placed to leverage the new technical and analytical capabilities which Ed has been investing in.”
