Etiqa Insurance Singapore has launched a platform enabling owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to purchase commercial insurance products online.

The new platform, known as Business Owners Super Suite (BOSS), is split into six trade categories, including office, retail, light industries, and personal services, among others. Businesses can use these categories to learn about and buy the insurance products relevant to their line of operations.

Customers have the flexibility to choose between standard plans or super suites, for coverage that includes all risks, business interruption, money, personal accidents, public liability, work injury compensation, goods in transit, and other optional covers.

Etiqa cited studies which found that many Singaporean SMEs remain underinsured, or, worse, uninsured. These businesses are also in need of proper risk management plans. According to the insurer, it considered that cost and time are major concerns for entrepreneurs, so it designed its BOSS packages to be affordable and easily accessible to time-strapped business owners.

“There is no one-size-fits-all solution, but the data-driven BOSS packages are specially tailored to cater to the needs of SMEs of various trades,” said Sue Chi Kong, CEO of Etiqa Singapore. “Business owners and their agents can easily refer to the standard package in their trade, and make adjustments according to their business status.

“Purchasing business insurance typically involves much paperwork, which is often processed offline. With BOSS and our new online purchase option, customers can save time and enjoy better convenience and savings.”
